When I want to download a file, instead of saving it under the original file type e. Nov 25, · Windows 10 - Problem downloading files on Firefox and Chrome Hello, I'm having trouble trying to download some files, usually large files but I have problems with smaller files too. I understand that you are not able to download files from Firefox and Chrome. Did you try re-installing the browsers and check? clicked on the Download link. When I want to download a file, instead of saving it under the original file type (e.g. jpeg, pdf etc.) with the original filename, allowing me to easily access it in my designated downloads folder and open it, Firefox now saves it with a filenames of 'download1', 'download2' etc, without an extension. The download() function of the downloads API downloads a file, given its URL and other optional preferences.. If the specified url uses the HTTP or HTTPS protocol, then the request will include all cookies currently set for its hostname.; If both filename and saveAs are specified, then the Save As dialog will be displayed, pre-populated with the specified filename.
